One thing that surprised me when I started with internet marketing is the number of marketers that talk about combating negativity and how to raise your motivation. It is very common for example that a seminar will start with a pep talk, to get your energy flowing before getting into business.
Now days I’m convinced that it is necessary to clear your mind from other issues if you want to attain your goals. Marketing is an intellectual exercise to be done whole heartily.
Close your eyes and picture this: For that last week, every morning and every night, you rush to your computer and work hard with the challenge. You are exited, your projects are starting to shape, and there is so much to learn. But all this excitement and energy that you feel, is perceived in a very different way by your partner. What she/he sees is that you are not there, that your mind is not paying the attention they deserve. And to call your attention now you are getting into frictions and fights. Those incidents lower your drive and energy and your progress is put in slow mode. It does not have to be this way! You need their support as much as they need yours. You need a better plan. The one thing that you should know is that enthusiasm is contagious. If you share your success, worries, doubts, and rants with your partners, you will have them at your side! Action Plan: - Take the time to think about your motivation on doing the challenge.
- Share your thoughts with your partner & family.
- Take a calendar and plan to make 2-3 hours a day for the challenge.
- Get your partner involved and see that it is ok with her.
- Print it and stick it somewhere visible.
- Plan for some time every day to discuss with your partners what you are doing, where are you struggling, and what you enjoy and achieve.
- Go the extra mile, and ask your partner for advice (and really listen) or for her views on areas where you have difficulties.
